On today’s episode, I’m talking with Dr. Wendy Borlabi who is the Director of Performance and Mental Health for the Chicago Bulls. When Dr. B started her career in psychology, she had no plans to go into sports psychology. After her first few clinical jobs, she realized she wanted a new challenge. Ultimately, she decided to go back to school for advanced degrees including a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology where she concentrated in sport and exercise psychology. Wendy has had an incredible career in sport psychology because she focused on learning her craft. While currently with the Bulls, Wendy has previously developed sport psych services at James Madison University and worked at the US Olympic Training Center in San Diego. And beyond her employed positions, Dr. B is also an entrepreneur having founded two performance consulting businesses and the non-profit Wisdom Knot which helps kids understand possibilities for future careers in sports.
